Darren had never heard of the PICU until 25th February 2009. This was the day after his wife Nikki gave birth to their second beautiful daughter, Kitty, at home following a straight forward labour. The Midwives left Kitty, Nikki, Keely, (4 at the time) and Darren cuddling up on the sofa when their delightful new addition was just a few hours old.

Pulse Festival has been set up with a clear purpose in mind and that is to raise money and awareness for the Children's Heart Unit in Southampton. We felt this could be achieved by putting on a great new music festival, and why not!

The Festival is organised by Mark Ward (heathward) and Olly Maw (Subgiant). Both have young children with Congenital Heart Disease who have both had life saving treatment at the unit in Southampton.

But it's not just us two, this festival has a whole team of dedicated friends and supporters behind it.
